When displaying value items on the landing page the system includes comma’s for the ‘thousand’ separator within the display. When you output the landing page to Excel the comma’s are retained in the workbook.
This doesn’t cause a issue in Excel – you can still sum up the values and use in calculations throughout the workbook as needed but if subsequently need to save the workbook to CSV for import back to Datafile or another system then the comma’s can cause a column offset here meaning you need to reformat the display in Excel to exclude the comma’s before saving.
This new feature allows you to set a landing page to omit the thousand separator comma so that when output to Excel and subsequently save as CSV the numeric items don’t require reformatting.
To update the landing page display select the Landing Page tab on the main ribbon and then choose Properties. On the properties panel select the toolbox icon top right and the Advanced Record Set Properties are displayed. The option to ‘Omit Thousand Separator’ can be selected here. |
