When you change status of a sales/purchase order the system wants to apply an exclusive lock on all the stock items on the sales order as changes in status can require an update of the stock reserved quantity.
Where you have common stock items in use then, on busy systems, these locks can be difficult to obtain. Recent changes to this process have allowed the system to omit locks for non-stock items like delivery charges and to move the ‘lock’ requirement to the update stage rather than on order selection but obtaining an exclusive lock can still be difficult on the busier systems. From this update the Change Status process will only require non-exclusive record locks on the stock items on the order meaning that, provided the stock item is not exclusive locked by another process (stock maintenance for example) then you can change the order status. Installation No setup options are required to enable this feature – this change is applied automatically on program update. |
