 User ID Set Up

1)Sign on to Datafile Software using the MASTER User-Id.

Please note that the system will ask "Lockout all other users until return to Sign-On”. Only respond "Y” if you are sure there are no active users logged in to the system.

 

2) Select List of User-ID’s from the Master Options menu.

3) Select any blank entry on the list and the Setup User No nn will appear.



4) The details should be filled in as follows:

Enter a user-id of up to 6 characters.

Full Name

No

Enter the full name of the user.

Password

No

Enter a password for the user of up to 10 characters.

Authority Level

Yes

Select an authority level from 0-9 (0=Highest Level, 9=Lowest Level)

Default Company

No

Enter the 3 character company ID the user will be working with by default.

Department

No

Select from the dropdown list (A-Z) to assign the user a Department category. This can be used later in the system for filtering Departmental notes on Account records.

Only This Company ID

No

Check this box if you do not require the user to have access to more than one company.

Default Printer

No

This relates to legacy support for some Dot Matrix printers. Under normal circumstances the default printer will be the default printer used in Windows.

Set to 99 if all reports are required to default to Spooler.

Allow Enquiries

No

Check this box if the User requires the Ledger Enquiry option within the system.

Multi-Company Enquiries

No

Check this box if the User requires the Ledger Enquiry option for other companies on the system.

 

Allow "SLAVE” Enquiries

No

Check this box if the user requires the Users on Line / Multi-User Activity enquiry options.

Allow DOS Shell

No

Check this box if the user requires access to the Command Line from within the system.

Alternative Menu

No

If the system has been set up with multiple user menu structures then enter the menu name applicable.

Save Enquiry History

No

Check this option if the user requires seeing a history of accounts accessed in the Ledger Enquiry function.

Alternative Desktop

No

Check this box if the system has been set up with multiple user desktop toolbars.

Installer Desktop

No

Check this box if the user requires System Manager options within the Desktop toolbar.

Authorisation Limits – SOP/POP

No

The highest amount the user is permitted to place a Sales/Purchase order for that doesn’t require a manager authorisation.
