Datafile Software User-Defined Reports - *RECCOUNT Test Condition on $Record Control Block One of the report types available on the ‘Databases on Desktop’ tools is a Top-10 report allowing you to list the Top 10 (or 50 / 100 etc.) customers based on turnover, the Top 10 selling stock lines and so on but this type of report has been difficult to achieve in ProFiler when you also want overall totals. This new feature allows you to use the variable
‘*RECCOUNT’ on a test condition against a $RECORD control block to test the
number of records reported. On the above example the report lists on the Top 5 customers by yearly turnover (using the test condition of *RECCOUNT Less/Equal 5) but goes on to show the total turnover for all customers, a total turnover of the top five customers and what percentage of the total turnover that represents. |
