Datafile Software Update EAN/Products from Stock This process runs through your stock or product database looking for those that contain an EAN or other product code, and then either updates the existing entries in the XML. † GS1 UK is at 10 Maltravers Street, London WC2R 3BX, telephone 020 7655 9000. They have a web site at www.e-centre.org.uk Datafile Software XML Module Lookup table, or creates new entries in it. Any products in the XML lookup table that are no longer present in the stock database are dropped from the XML table. Note that these procedures may well need to be tailored to accommodate the specific stock database definition and your particular needs. For example, if using multi-location stock, then it is probable that the same EAN is present for a stock code for each location. Although the process only transfers one EAN code, it might refer to any location, unless changed. (Note: XML orders assume products are to be supplied from a default location defined in the system constants file, unless a different stock location is given for a particular customer location.) |
