Style Sheets


Whilst the schema might be adequate from the point-of-view of a processing application to describe what an XML file contains, a further element is still required to tell a browser or any other application how to display the document details — fonts, structure of tables and pages etc.. That element is the style sheet. As it is not the intention that Datafile Software should be able to display an XML document itself (it will merely call the local browser to do so) style sheets are not discussed further here. XML style sheets are also XML computer files, and typically have a suffix of "xsl”.
