Datafile Software General Lookup File The ability to look up values in tables that are not included amongst the application databases is always required. For example, incoming sales orders may use a code (EAN or the customer’s own) to describe the delivery location for the order, and the products contained in that order. These are most unlikely to be your codes. A general lookup file is the tool that allows you to translate from their codes to the ones used by you Again, a sample file is included with the XML module, as are some example ProFiler procedures used for maintaining the entries (you can modify these for your own use). A fuller explanation of this file and the sample procedures is contained in an appendix. |
