Automatic Payments – Confirm Exchange Rate

When post a payment transaction directly within the Purchase Ledger or via the Cashbook application the system allows you to confirm the exchange rate to use when posting a payment to a non-GBP (or more correctly non base currency) supplier. When processing an automatic payment run for a currency, however, the system automatically uses the current holding/spot rate. This new feature allows you to confirm the holding rate for the payment run.

If enabled, then when you confirm the currency during the Automatic Payment Generation the system will prompt for the exchange rate to use.

Installation

Application User Facilities

To enable the confirmation of exchanges rates a new parameter has been added to the Automatic Generation of Payments parameters within the Purchase Ledger Application User Facilities. To update select Installationfrom the main menu followed by Application Manager and then Application User Facilities. Select the Purchase Ledger application followed by Purchase Transactions and then move to screen 4 of the parameters.
