Account Enquiry - Nominal - Application User Facilities

This feature allows you quickly to view a nominal account on the screen, including a list of transactions for the account.

You can configure up to ten items to display in the header for the account, five items in two columns.

For each account item that you want to display in the account enquiry screen, key the data item number <Enter>. The data item name is then displayed alongside the number. You can use the <F4–Select> key to look for a data item in the file structure in the usual way. Leave as zero any items not required.

If you want to display the movement (actual) for the current period then set CURR-ACT-01 for display – the system will replace this will the current period value. This facility also applies to the budget and comparative values. If you actually want to display the period-1 values regardless of the period number you would have to create a calculated field in the accounts file and display this item instead.

You have no control over the transaction data items displayed, which are the journal number, date, description, debit or credit amount, and the source of the transaction (as defined under the nominal System Profiles).

After setting the enquiry screen two user defined screens are displayed – one for accounts and one for transactions. These are used by the drill-down zoom procedure for full-screen enquiry (via <F7>) for the account or transactions.

You design the screen as per the standard design parameters.

To add text to the screen you use the mouse or arrow keys to position the cursor at the start of where you wish to enter your text and type in the required label(s). To clear any text you can use the space bar.

To add a data item to the screen you use the mouse or arrow keys to position the cursor at the start of where you wish the item to display and then either ‘right-click’ with the mouse or press <F4-Select>.The list of available data items are displayed for you to select. To delete a data item from the screen use the mouse to click the item and then hit the <DELETE> key.

To draw borders around the screen choose the option ‘Border’ on the Tools pull-down at the top of the screen.

To draw a line on the screen select the option ‘Line Mode’ on the Tools pull-down and then use the mouse to click the start position of the line and then drag the line (horizontally or vertically) to the end position of the line. To delete a line use the mouse to select the line (it will turn blue when selected) and then hit the <DELETE> key. Once the line(s) has been drawn you can switch back to text mode use the option on the Tools pull-down.

Once complete choose the File pull-down option ‘Save & Exit’. On save of the accounts enquiry screen you are taken to the transactions screen for design / amendment. On save of the transactions screen you will be returned to the user facilities menu.
