Reverse Journals - Continue to Next Entry

Historically the Nominal Journal Reference was a four-digit number. Whilst we now allow a six-digit reference, many users still use a four-digit value and, as such, have looped around on their journal numbers.Whilst for general purposes this does not cause any issues, the ‘Reverse Journal’ procedure only looked for the first journal with the entered reference and generally reported the date not valid. Now the system will warn and offer to continue searching for another journal with this reference.

if you respond ‘Yes’ the search continues to find the next journal with the entered reference and so on until a journal is reached with a valid date for reversal (i.e. within the current or previous financial year).
