General Lookup File


The ability to look up values in tables that are not included amongst the application databases is always required. For example, incoming sales orders may use a code (EAN or the customer’s own) to describe the delivery location for the order, and the products contained in that order. These are most unlikely to be your codes. A general lookup file is the tool that allows you to translate from their codes to the ones used by you

Again, a sample file is included with the XML module, as are some example ProFiler procedures used for maintaining the entries (you can modify these for your own use). A fuller explanation of this file and the sample procedures is contained in an appendix.
