Datafile Software Period End - Stock Control The period-end is a housekeeping routine. You should use it on a monthly basis to match your accounting periods, particularly if you want to keep the monthly history of demand for each stock item up-to-date. The period-end routines can alter so many details in the files in just a few minutes that it is strongly recommended that you have up-to-date security copies of both the stock file and the stock transactions file before you use these routines. You should also have printed out the current month’s stock transactions before you run period-end. Whether transactions are retained or erased depends on parameters in the stock system profiles. Options allow you to retain all transactions, remove all transactions, retain by date (input at run-time) and to retain for set number of periods. |
