Datafile Software Force To-Stock to Match From-Stock on Batch Transfers A common use for Batch Tracking is to assign ‘bin
locations’ for all stock items to track the quantity of a given stock item in
any one location. In this circumstance
transfers are used to move stock from one bin location to another. This new feature allows the system to force
the ‘To-Stock’ code to be equal to the ‘From-Stock’ code during stock transfer. Note This feature applies to all transfers so the assumption is that Batch Tracking is used for all items as a bin location if you enable this feature. Installation Application User Facilities This feature is enabled
through the Application User Facilities for Stock Control. To update the parameters select Installation from the main menu
followed by Application Manager and
then Application User Facilities. Select the Stock Control application and then
the Stock Transactions parameter
screen before moving to screen 2 of the parameters. Force To-Code to From-Code on Transfers – set to force the ‘to’ stock code to match that of the ‘from’ stock code during stock transfer entry. As previously noted this feature is only of use where all items are batch tracked and the batch code is used as a ‘bin location’ for the stock line. |
