Comments

Comments can be embedded within an XML file for documentation purposes, and are ignored by all XML file processors. Their use is highly recommended within a Datafile XML template to offer any future observer explanatory notes on the template design. Comments start with "<!--” (opening angle bracket, exclamation mark and two hyphens) and close with "-->” (two hyphens and a closing angle bracket).

Important Note
XML standards prohibit the use of a double hyphen other than in the start and end
notations for a comment. Used elsewhere they may cause errors to occur when parsing.
