Automatic (Q) Menu Actions - Program Calls

As part of an automatic menu, you may often include calls to specific application program routines. For example, if you have a Q menu to process Web Orders you may include a call to SOP Batch Update to create the sales orders or to an Acknowledgement print document to print the Pick Notes for the warehouse.

These program calls are all processed on an ‘automatic’ basis – the Batch Update action processes all previously unprocessed entries, the Pick Note action processes all orders that not previously picked and so on.

Often though your Profiler action may be dealing with a specific order or account. This new option allows you to call a profiler action and pass an index value across to process against.

The program action is called in the normal way – P-Program, SP.EXE, 1003 calls the Order Detail maintenance option for example.Appending !NNN to the parameter number passes to the record selection options the value in that data item on the constant file.
