Stock Images within Pick / Build Documents

Sales and Purchase Order Processing documents allow the ability to print an image from the stock record within an Order Processing document – this can give assistance on Picking Notes to operatives in the warehouse for example. This feature has now been added to Bill of Materials for both the Assembly and Component Stock items – this can be used to give similar assistance on picking notes or to include a schematic from the finished item.

Installation

Document Design Manager

To configure the document to include stock images sign on as the SYSTEM user, or any user with Installer access rights, right click on the Print Works Order or Build Works Order menu options and select Configure Option. Alternatively users can select Installation from the main menu, followed by Application Manager and then Document Design Manager before selecting Bill of Materials Documents and the required document category.

The system will list the available documents – enter the number of the document to update in the prompt at the bottom of the screen and the document mask will be displayed.

To include an image for the finished stock item select the Parameters option on the main toolbar and then use the ACTION button to move to the ‘Order Header Items to be Displayed / Printed’ parameter screen.

Print Stock Image – set this option to print a stock image for the finished item.Once set a pop-up screen will be displayed with additional parameters.

Image Width (Cols) – each document has a defined number of columns or grid lines across the page (typically a document is set for 80 or 128 columns for an A4 portrait page but can be set up to 255). Define the number of columns across the page the image is to be displayed across.

Image Height (Rows) – define the number of document rows (or lines) the image is displayed down. The image can be displayed over a maximum of 60 lines.

Start Line – set the line number on which the image is to start being displayed.Note if the finished item appears in the document "Header” area it will appear on each page of a multi-page document, if the image appears in the document "Footer” it will only appear on the last page.

Start Column – set the start column at which the left hand side of the image is to start being displayed.

Stock Image Item – select the item on the Stock Record that holds the image path and filename.

Keep in Proportion – when printing the image the system will stretch or shrink the image to fit within the defined height/width. Setting this option keeps the print in proportion to the original image file.

Once set the system will display the image ‘block’ on the document mask which can then be moved, if necessary, to its desired position.

To include an image for the stock components a similar set of parameters are available on the ‘User Defined Column Entries’ parameter screen.

Print Stock Image – set this option to print a stock image for the component item.Once set a pop-up screen will be displayed with additional parameters.

Image Width (Cols) – each document has a defined number of columns or grid lines across the page. Define the number of columns across the page the image is to be displayed across.

Image Height (Rows) – define the number of document rows (or lines) the image is displayed down. The image can be displayed over a maximum of 10 lines.

Extra Line Before – set if a line/row is to be left between the end of a detail print (usually last line of description / extra text block or batch detail print) and the print of the image.

Other Data Alongside – Set if the image is to be displayed with the (usually) description data alongside the image. The image will print either one or two lines below (subject to ‘extra line’ parameter above) the first line for each detail.

Align with Main Detail – if set then the image prints so that the top of the image aligns with the main detail line (for this ‘Other Data Alongside’ must be set and ‘Extra Line Before’ should not be set)

Note

For Document Design purposes the image block for the component stock image displays two lines below the detail line area. Actual print will use the column position set but line position will be controlled by the above three parameters.
