When processing a Print or Build document within Bill of Materials each document raised is assigned a document reference. This reference, if not set as the order reference itself, is usually an incremental counter. Bill of Materials allows for 12 sequence numbers for the incremental counter with the first six nominally assigned for use in ‘Print’ documents and the remainder for the ‘Build’ documents. Each document has configuration parameters as to which sequence number to use – a number sequence can be shared between multiple documents.
Where Bill of Materials is configured for use across multiple companies it can be useful to share the document reference across the companies, particularly if this reference is to be used as a key reference for an external application. This new feature allows for Bill of Materials documents to use the global ‘System Wide References’ as the incremental counter for the document reference.
