When processing sales or purchase order processing documents the option exists to save the processed quantity to another item on the order detail file, that quantity can then be used as the default ‘action’ quantity on another document. Bill of Materials documents had the option to default the ‘header’ quantity to a nominated item on the Works Order Header but didn’t have the option to save the quantity.In addition, BoM documents couldn’t save/default the component quantity. These options have now been added to Bill of Materials.
Installation
Document Design
General Document Parameters 1 of the Bill of Materials Print and Build Documents have been updated to allow configuration of the default / save quantity parameters.
Premier Installer users can right-click on the menu option and choose to Configure Optionbefore selecting the appropriate document number. Alternatively, users can select Installationfrom the main menu followed by Application Manager and then Document Design Manager. Select the Bill of Materials documents and then whether updating the Print or Build Documents before choosing the document to update.
Selecting the PARAMETERS option on the ribbon will display the first general document parameters screen.
Default to Which Assembly Quantity / Data Item – to default the assembly quantity set to default the quantity to ‘4 – Use Data Item’ and then reference the data item to default the quantity to.
Zero After Use? – set whether the default quantity data item is to be zeroed after use.
Save Action Qty to Data Item – reference the data item to be updated with the assembly quantity processed.
Add / Subtract – set if the processed quantity is to be added to or subtracted from any existing value in the referenced data item. If neither option set the processed quantity replaces any previous value.
Default to Which Component Quantities – this option is normally set to ‘4’ so that component quantities reflect the assembly quantity to be processed.
