When you issue stock to a job within job costing the system prompts for the value – whilst this often defaults to the cost price it is actually the ‘sales’ value of the issue. If overtype the value then this is used as the sales value of the issue but the cost used remains that of the actual stock cost.
When using a single stock code for bespoke stock items or posting the stock issue to the job prior to the purchase invoice you may end up using a old/incorrect stock cost. This new option allows you to confirm the job/stock cost as part of the stock issue posting.
Installation
Application User Facilities
As part of the job costing transaction parameters a new option has been added to screen 2 to allow confirm of the cost.
Premier Installer users can right-click on the Stock Issues option on the menu and choose to Configure Option. Alternatively, you can select Installation from the main menu followed by Application Manager and Application User Facilities. Select the Job Costing application before selecting the Enter Job Cost Details option. Parameter Screen 2 contains the new parameter options.
Set Stock Cost to Issue Cost – setting this option keeps the one cost/value input but insures that the entered value is used to update both the job and stock actual/sales values and the cost value.
Confirm Cost Price to Stock Issue – setting this option allows you to confirm the actual/sales price of the issue and stock/job cost value.
