When printing a number item on a user-defined report configured for font printing then the system includes spaces for significant values where no value defined. For example, if printing a K-type item and it is set to print ‘in full’ the system prints using a mask of 999999.99- so a value of 1.00 prints with five spaces at the front. Setting ‘Print in Full’ to ‘N’ would omit the leading spaces but would also prevent the use of offset/size options to omit decimal places.
These leading spaces can cause an issue when using bar code fonts as the bar code printed would represent ‘ 1’ rather than ‘1’. This new option in the print parameters for numeric items allows the system to omit leading spaces from the print and also allows use of the start/size options so that can omit decimal places from print.
When printing a text item on a user-defined report configured for font printing then the system includes spaces for trailing characters at the end of the text. For example, if printing an X-type item set to print 30 characters but text is only 5 of these characters then the item is printed with the 5 five text characters and 25 space characters.
A new option has also been added in the print parameters for text items to allow the system to omit trailing spaces from the print.
Omit Leading Spaces – if set then when print the system will omit leading spaces from value print item.
Notes
Font should not be set to ‘right-align’ numeric values when printing.
Print in Full should remain set if wish to use options for offset/size items.
Omit Trailing Spaces – if set then when print the system will omit trailing spaces from text print item.
