XML files may be sent as a continuous stream of data, with little or no formatting enclosed within them. This makes them hard to read. This option prints each element on a new line, indenting by two characters the start of a child element compared to its parent. This makes for much easier reading of the XML file.
Enter the pathname of the XML file you wish to print when requested.
Provided the file is well-formed (that is to say, every opening tag in the structure has a corresponding closing tag) then it is reported as "well formed”. If any obvious errors are noted during printing, these are recorded on the report. For example, the print routine might report an opening tag does not have a matching closing tag.
Note
This diagnostic print is actually performed by the DataFiler module, not the XML module. The menu option calls DB.EXE with parameter 9996.
