At present there are only two general configuration options:
Base location for XML definition files
Enter here the pathname for the folder in which all the XML transaction definitions will be stored. The XML module in fact then creates a sub-folder inside the folder given here, one for each XML transaction. These folder names are simply the transaction numbers.
For any one transaction the definition file within this folder is labelled XML.INI. In addition, a Datafile XML template is required for the transaction. This is normally kept in this same sub-folder under the name XML.XML, although it can be held in a separate location entirely.
When you change a transaction definition, the original XML.INI and XML.XML files are copied and renamed in this folder as XML.~INI and XML.~XML. Should you need to revert to the earlier version, it is a simple matter to rename the files in the sub-folder.
Combined log file for all transactions
As described earlier, a text log file is maintained of the results of running any XML transaction, effectively a copy of what is printed on the XML audit trail. This log is normally kept as a file called XML.LOG in the relevant sub-folder.
If you tick this option, however, all these log actions are recorded instead in a file called DFXML.LOG which is maintained in the preferences area of the Datafile system, normally the root folder.
