History Database Cross-Links

The Datafile Premier system allows extra detail databases, termed ‘History’ files, to be viewed off the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Sales Order and Purchase Order Ledger Enquiry options. These options allow you to link any database that contains the main enquiry index code and list and view records in the enquiry.

New in Release 6.2 is the ability to define application cross-links to other enquiry applications in the same way as, for example, the sales order list of the sales account enquiry allows you to cross-link to the sales order enquiry.Currently these cross-link options are restricted to links to the sales / purchase order enquiry (but not both on the one database) or the stock enquiry but this will be expanded in future releases.

Installation

Ledger Enquiry Manager

To define the history database cross-links you need to set additional parameters within the Ledger Enquiry Manager. To update select Installation from the main menu followed by Ledger Enquiry Manager, Enquiries Configuration, the application required, and then Transaction / Detail Enquiries.Confirm the authority levels for access to the detail databases and then select the history database from the subsequent menu.



Detail File 1^st/ 2^nd Datafile Link Item – define the data item on the list database that corresponds to the prime-index of the application you wish to link to.

Applic – select the application you wish to link to. As noted earlier this is currently restricted to the Stock and Sales / Purchase Order Processing applications. Please also note that cannot link to both sales and purchase order enquiries from the one history database, and that the Order History enquiries cannot link to themselves.
