During order entry when you press <F4-Select> on Stock Code the system will generally default to the last index used for the search – i.e. if the last search was on the stock description the next search will be on the stock description and so on. An existing option allows the <Enter> key on a blank stock code to focus on a particular secondary index each time regardless of the last search index used and this can now be extended to the use of <F4-Select>.This feature is of particular use when using bar code readers to select the stock item and the bar code is a secondary index.
Installation

To enable this feature you need to update the Optional
Features within the Application User Facilities. To activate this option select Installation from the main menu
followed by Application Manager and
then Application User Facilities. Select the appropriate Order Processing
application and then select Enter /
Amend Orders, Advanced Input
Facilities and then Optional
Features. The new parameter is
available on screen 1 of the Optional Features.
Auto F4-Sel on Item if Blank Stock Code – select the secondary index item on the Stock file to focus on if press <Enter> on a blank stock code
Apply on F4-Select – set to apply the focus on the set secondary index item when press <F4-Select> on a blank stock code input.
This option relies on a blank stock code not being configured for either the free-format stock identifier or the description only stock identifier within the Optional Features.
