Datafile Software Application Considerations - Multiple Companies If you run more than one company’s accounts on your system, but want to use a single XML system to send and receive messages, then there are two approaches, depending on how your XML communications system receives order messages: If the XML communications system can separate, either by file or by pathname conventions, incoming XML messages for each company, then the messages can be handled and processed entirely separately for each company. If, however, the XML communications system cannot separate incoming XML messages, then the Datafile XML system will have to process all messages into a single database. The order processing batch update system must select the orders based on a company code within the order messages. Note, however, that this can only work provided the same Datafile customer, customer locations and stock codes are used for the same customers and products across each company. |
