General Lookup File - Appendix 6

The General Lookup file is used to hold certain codes that are needed within the system. This single file can hold the members of any number of different tables. To avoid having to trawl through all the entries in the lookup file on a lookup, then mark the records that belong to an individual table with a flag that can be used to show only the members of that table. The general lookup file structure shown here uses data items 20–29 to flag up to ten specific tables. If you need to create a new such table, then choose one of the data items called FLAGn and rename it for the purpose you need.
