Sales Allocations, Purchase Allocations - Cashbook

You can use either of these options to allocate invoice, payment and credit note transactions together in the sales ledger and in the purchase ledger respectively.

When you take these options you are asked to confirm an allocation date:

The date you give here must be either in the current period for the ledger, or it can be in the next period provided this ledger is supporting forward dates. If the date is outside these periods you are warned:

The dates in the message are the current period dates for the ledger concerned, which may be different to the current period, defined for the cash book. You must press <Enter> to return to the date prompt. You can <Escape> from the date prompt to return to the menu.

If the ledger supports forward dating and you give a date in the forward period, then you are asked:

Reply ‘Yes’ to accept this date, or ‘No’ to return to give a date in the earlier period.

The remainder of the allocation processes are as discussed in receipt and payment entry earlier.
