EAN/Product Table Update

This allows you manually to maintain entries in the XML EAN/Product table. The intention is always to use EAN codes. But some customers may agree to use a different code with you — their own, maybe. If that is so, then you’ll need manually to enter these codes into this XML product table using this option. Mark these codes to keep on update, to prevent them being deleted when you next make a global update from the stock system.

If a customer starts to use a new product code, but you have not yet updated your own system yet, then a validation error occurs when you process orders that include that code. You can add this product to the XML lookup table so that you can revalidate orders received and clear validation errors. Remember to add the product into your own stock system too, however!

The option exists to note an alternate product code here — perhaps you have made some changes to the product and have a new internal code for it. The original EAN code ordered by the customer is kept in the order line even if the alternate product has a different EAN code. If you want a warning printed if a product is ordered, reply Y<Enter> to the question To warn if product is ordered mark "Y" here.
